It's based on a recording by John Lennon

30.4.07
An unheard recording originally made by the late John Lennon could find its way to commercial release later this year.
The track, titled "Now And Then", is to be compiled from archive Beatles recordings by the remaining Beatles, and is planned for release as single, reports the Daily Express.
Alongside Lennon's vocals, sessions from the late George Harrison will also be incorporated, as will drumming from Ringo Starr and vocals from Sir Paul McCartney.
ELO musician Jeff Lynne was on board as the tracks original producer and reveals, "The song had a chorus but is almost totally lacking in verses. We did the backing track, a rough go that we really didn't finish.
"It was sort of a bluesy sort of ballad, I suppose, in A minor. It was a very sweet song; I liked it a lot, and I wish we could have finished it."

THE MANAGER

"Without Mister Epstein there would have been no Beatles",says Paul McCartney in a 1992 BBC interview.Known as the manager of the Beatles and their mentor,Brian is one of the most wealthiest figures in rock music. While the Beatles were enjoying their worldwide success,he busied himself managing other British artists such as rock groups Gerry and The Pacemakers,Freddie and the Dreamers and also Priscilla White, the cloakroom attendant at the Cavern, became a star in the Epstein firmament when he renamed her Cilla Black.
Although generally not in a laughing frame of mind, depression plagued him all day due to constant pressures and worries over his boys and girls which eventually led him to become addicted to amphetamines and barbiturates. After the Beatles last show in San Francisco in 1966,Brian attempted suicide, stricken by the emptiness of the future. His projects after the Beatles "retired" from touring were mixed and he took little pleasure in them.Eventually he entered a clinic where his condition was diagnosed as a mixture of exhaustion, depression and insomnia. The pessimism remained even after he left the clinic. And in August 1967,he died of an overdose on sleeping pills.

The Beatles Philosophy

Every time I hear this puzzling lyric I wonder what the riddle could possibly mean. What kind of hole needs fixing, what is the ‘rain’ that gets in, and how does it prevent the mind from wandering where it will go? ... The lyric seems to suggest that the wandering mind (thinking or consciousness) is possible because we set up the conditions for thinking. We fix the holes, fill the cracks, and paint the rooms of our consciousness. This allows the mind to wander, to be free. More...

He and his bandmates will perform at 3 p.m. Saturday at the River Raisin Centre for the Arts, 114 S. Monroe St."We're lookalikes and soundalikes.
